Raleigh Speedway A short lived

Raleigh Speedway
A short lived, 1 mile, paved, banked oval, NASCAR track in north Raleigh, NC in the 1950's.  They hosted the July 4 Grand National Race, apparently Daytona Speedway was opened and the race date was moved to Daytona, Fl.
The track was located in what is now an industrial park between Wake Forest Rd., Tarheel Dr., I-440, and St. Albans Dr.  A few years ago there was part of pit road remaining behind a building supply on Tarheel Dr.
Somewhere I have NC Highway Dept. aerial photos of the track taken for the proposed building of the Raleigh Beltline ( I-440 North ).
If you have any additional information, or photos you would be willing to share, I would like to add to this history.  I am also looking for photos and information on the Hillsboro Speedway.
